So I have had this book "American Wife" sitting on my end table for about a month trying to find a good time in my busy schedule to read it. I bought the book thinking this could be beneficial to me and of course the story of Chris Kyle and his family is a huge topic of interest in many households.After starting this book I soon realized I would not be able to put it down until I finished it. Yes, I read this book in one day! All 334 pages. I thought I would be hooked because of her talk about being a military wife and of course her story on Chris Kyle's job in the military, which has always been fascinating to me.To my surprise I was only slightly hooked on those topics but felt drawn to her ideas about her faith in her marriage no matter how bad things got. Taya is so brave to reveal the darkest parts of her marriage and to speak so openly about her faith. I didn't think I would be so moved by her story, perhaps it's because I am now married and can relate. I admire how she addresses not just military families but marriages and families as a whole as there are struggles in all marriages.I also admire her loyalty to her husband even in moments where he didn't always deserve it. She never gave up even when Chris told her he wasn't sure if they would make it. She prayed to her God for the strength to work on their marriage.This book, in my opinion, is inspiring for many marriages and families in that despite the darkest parts, there is always hope, love, compassion, forgiveness, and faith.Taya believes so strongly in the sanctity of her marriage that she started her foundation to help military and first responders have healthy marriages and families. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing a good read and a new outlook or perspective on their own marriage.There is MUCH more to this book then what I have mentioned but it's what moved me the most.

Taya Kyle is tough and it shows in this book. I got to see inside of some of her life with Chris Kyle and particularly what it was like for her and the children after he was murdered. It took a lot of people to get her and her children through the murder and trial while the film about her husband was setting records. I finished the book, sad that there weren't more years for her and her children.

Taya Kyle, I want you to be one of my friends. Not for fane or ninety but for your strength. I wish you love and happiness in your long life ahead. Maybe somehow we will meet! You have inspired me beyond words. I had a stroke in 2006 and I thought what could be worse. Your strength inspires me to not be depressed. God was saying Slow Down Candi ...I have Lord! Taya, you r 1 hell of a sister in Christ. I think as long as you need to hear him, you will! No matter where you are in life. Keep listening

Having served in the military, I understand the hardships service places on families, but to this depth I was unaware. These stories touched my heart. Powerfully written and personal. Patriot! Taya has a gift and strength to her that she seems sometimes not to notice or believe, but she nailed it all when she made it through this. Thank you for sharing Mrs. Kyle!

She talks about struggles that many people and marriages have which makes her story more real and more relateable to all people. Her whole life was changed suddenly when Chris died, and then the lawsuit from Jesse Ventura continued. Taya shows how you can go through hellish experiences and come out the other side with the support of family and friends, and your own inner strength. It's not just a "military" book. This is good for all people who are struggling with something in their life.
